We have always been led to believe that your twenties are when you live your life and as you get older, it all depletes, gets sad and gloomy and depressing and sad and gloomy.

However, life does not have to be like that. We spend too much time worrying about ageing that we completely forget to live in the moment. Our early adulthood and childhood are spent with the narrative that we gotta work hard right now and life will be rainbows and unicorns later. That did not happen with you now did it? Our obsession with material health made us completely forget about our mental health. Twenties are when we neglect it the most and honestly, we do not even enjoy it to the fullest because there is always that financial restraint.

In my opinion, as a 22-year-old, your proper life starts after you have reached your forties or fifties. This is when you actually start valuing yourself as an individual and see things beyond just what they are. You have the money; you have the mental peace as you have achieved whatever you can. This is when you can sit back and truly make life about yourself.

However, I know things are not this simple. Throughout the years, we fall in love, we get our heart broken and we manage to get up again. There comes an age where you lose the motivation to get up again. Some people get depressed just by thinking about it but in my opinion, it is your &lsquo;golden&rsquo; era.

Now, everyone has their own choice. Some people prefer to be alone and fine solace within themselves whereas other always long for someone else. However, the dating pool for people of older ages is very limited but even then, you can easily find a companion or a hobby!

We know how you are now used to being on your own, scared to get hurt or feel like it is cheating on your deceased partner if you get involved with someone else. No matter what it is, you need to prioritize yourself and your wellbeing. The only way to be happy with someone else is when you are happy with yourself.

It is very common to just confine yourself in your house where you convince yourself that this is enough and cannot get better. You know what&rsquo;s better than watching a movie alone?
