Ayurveda, Sanskrit for &ldquo;knowledge of life&rdquo;, is based on the ideology that an illness results due to a distortion in your consciousness. Hence, you need certain interventions to regain this balance between your body, mind, spirit, and the environment.

For instance, some Bhasmas are intentionally made with lead and mercury.
