As part of the operation, the surgeons shaved the dorsal part of the distal phalanx, removing only the nail bed without shortening the phalanx; thus, preserving the length of the toe. So far the operative method has been performed on 10 patients between the ages of&nbsp; 30 and 80. These patients suffered from persistent pincer nails and had failed both conservative and operative treatments.

According to the results, none of the patients reported a recurrence or faced any major cosmetic deformities. Moreover, the site of operation demonstrated good healing.
